Solved: IP Addresses
I need some help with my IP. I know that my email account has been hacked on numerous occasions and now i have the ip addresses that access my account displayed. if only the last number of the ip address is different does that mean it was my computer that accessed my email? Also i recently recieved an email from a job website, but the email appeared in my own sent box, i had not moved it there, nor had i replied to the email, can anyone explain why this would happen? I am a complete novice with computers so all help would be greatfully appreciated

By 'hacked' do you mean someone has used it or you believe you might have a virus. If a 'job site' email was in your sent box, chances are you've just downloaded a virus/adware/malware of some sort, run your antivirus program and anti adware program to check for issues, many viruses will commandeer your email to send bogus emails to others who trust you.

If you don't have any, some free and good antivirus software is AVAST! or AVG, I personally prefer AVAST because it has resident scanners protecting email, IM and other traffic but it's your choice.

Good antispyware software to run would be Spybot Search and Destroy or AdAware, just make sure everything is up to date before running the scan to maximise the chance of catching any culprits.

You might also want to monitor the downloads (i.e. torrents, P2P) anyone using your computer is making as well as the sites visited to minimise a recurrence.

Thanks that is great, i have pc protection provided by virgin, i have been having problems like this since i entered the internet two years ago, i have an ex who is "clued up" on comps and am sure he is manipulating my comp, i have virgin pc guard will that be enough to spot the virus? My comp usually only accesses my email and facebook...but i disabled this last night as i think facebook could be behind alot of the problems, i applied for the job it was a rejection i got, then yesterday my adware found that my pc was trying to access the internet to give microsoft adminstrators permissions, i immediatly blocked it from ever doing this. Could you possibly explain to me how trojans work, i know nothing but i am experianceing problems that are clearly not normal pc function, whenever i close my internet window for facebook it says there are several adobe documents open in the web page i am trying to close, do you understand why it would do this? I really do need help from someone with knowledge, pc world were not helpful, i think i'm redownloading something everytime i delete the last and have no idea how to spot the fakes i know this is alot to ask for help with on a forum, but i have tried everywhere else
