Vista Local Only / Cannot Connect To Internet Wirelessly
I have a brand new Toshiba laptop. It won't wirelessly connect to the internet with or without router encryption. It connects perfect when using the ethernet connection. Can someone help me with this problem?

What are the exact symptoms of the failure to connect? Does it see the wireless networks?

Please download Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector and post a screen shot of the main screen.

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file. To upload it to TSG, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here.

Yes it does see the wireless network that I'm trying to connect to. I'll post a screenshot once that program is done downloading.

Also show the following while connected by ethernet and trying to connect by wireless at the same time ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
