Destination Host Unreachable
Dear Friends,
We have connected four computers with one server machine. All four machines connected through one switch. out of four computers, three computers are not pinging with the server sometimes. so, I uninstalled the network driver and installed. but, now also that three computers are not pinging with server. but, the same time pinging with any other computer, it is pinging.

So, Anyone can help for this problem...how I can solve this....

thanks in advance.....

Its simple you have an error on your network can you ping from a computer to the router? then attempt to go from the router to the computer.

A little more info may be needed maybe a better discription of the hardware you are running and your setup you have to remember the path a packet goes out on may not be the path it comes back on.

Hello Sir,
Thank you very much for your reply.
But, At that time except server machine all other ip addresses are pinging. The network we connected from 24 port switch to 8 port switch. Then, from 8 port switch to all computers.

Please give me the solution for the same...
Regards,
V.Anand

Umm if there is no router in the picture it is possible that a firewall may have been blocking the request or you had collisions on your network causing the packets to be dropped (someone correct me if it was hubs that had collisions and not switches) or it is possible that somone arp poisoned the switch making no room for the computers mac address meaning the ping would not be returned.

There are several reasons is the host still unreachable from that machine?

If IP is being assinged automatically do you not need DHCP from a router? or is there a router in the mix that was left out?

Sounds like a firewall on the server if the computers can ping other workstations.
