No internet connection also nothing in the network connections folder
hey guys
i have a sony vaio laptop and the internet icon next to the clock is gone and when i go to the network connection folder, there is nothing there. when i try to refresh it says "The network connection folder was unable to retrieve the list of network adapters on your machine. please make sure that the network connections service is enabled and running." the internet works because im on a different comp in my house. the wireless switch is "ON" on my laptop but still nothing. plz help

Go to Device Manager and see if you have any red X's or yellow exclamation points on your network devices. Sounds like a problem with the drivers.

If Device Manager shows your network adapters are OK then check the Network Connections service--in Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services.

ok i found it and there is no red X or ! on anything. i have a intel(r) pro\wireless 2200bg network connection. ok after i go to administrative tools then services, then wat do i do?

See if the Network Connections service is started. If it is not, try to start it. If it won't start try to determine why not.
