Siemens gigaset se587 wlan dsl
I am using the above modem - wireless and notice that once I get ouside of my home office that the signal is unstable. Sometimes I pick it up, other times I don't.
My home is a brick house - what sort of range should i be expecting from this modem? Is there something I can do with the modem to optimise the range?

The range is not great on this router but maybe try changing the wireless channel. Set it 1, 6 or 11 to minimise interference from a neighbours router that might be on the same channel?

Try all 3 channels to see if it makes any difference?

See config screens below:

You can also download and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, this will allow you do do a site survey and see where the best channels are.
