Hi and welcome to TSG.

Sounds like you may be missing the wireless drivers.

Can you give us the details of your computer (brand, model number operating system, etc.) and exactly how you did the recovery (from a recovery partition on the hard drive, recovery discs that came with the computer, recovery discs you created on the computer)?

Check if your wireless adapter's driver is still installed properly. It is very likely that the wireless adapter is no longer installed properly in your computer. If that is the case, reinstall the adapter's driver. That should do the trick.

According to the HP web site, the m7470n includes a hardwired LAN port. There is no wireless hardware in it as far as I can tell.

It means that your computer did not come with any wireless hardware installed. You can either use the existing wired Ethernet port or purchase and install a wireless adapter.

Are you saying that you were able to use a wireless network connection on that computer at one time but then it stopped working?

I am not sure if I am not wording my questions clearly or if I am having trouble understanding your answers. In either case, it may be time for someone else here to try and help you work out your problem.

Hi! Can you tell me if you have installed a wireless adapter in your computer before. Coz you mentioned earlier that you were connected wirelessly before you got disconnected after performing recovery. Also, if you can may post here what your device manager looks like, that will really help. Thanks.

{ipconfig /all}
We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all

-> Start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all
post back the results here

TWO Methods to do that - if you cannot access the internet with PC, then use method 2 to copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

Method ONE -------------------------------------------------------------
start > run {search bar in Vista} > cmd > ipconfig /all

rightclick in the box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Method TWO -------------------------------------------------------------

Start> Run {search bar in Vista}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:\RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
