Exclamation Internet cuts out
For sometime now and it is getting really annoying my internet connection will randomly cut out for about 10-30 seconds then come back on without notifcation. It is getting really annoying because of the fact that i am an active gamer and i get cut out of the middle of a online game. It happens to all my computers in the house even my consoles and Ipod touch. I'm not too sure if it is maybe an overflow of computers on my network because i can sometimes have 2 or 3 computers and 2 ipod touches on the same network all at one time. My internet speed is about 512kbps. My router which is a linksys WAG 45g could maybe be the source of the problem. Im thinking about buying a new one because i hate getting NAT problems on my xbox 360 and is unfixable on my router. So if you could help me out that would be great if you need anymore information for sollution please just ask and im willing to post it.

First off, I'd update the firmware on the router and then reset to factory defaults and reconfigure. I'd be far more likely to suspect the ISP than the router if it were me and that doesn't help. What indication do you see on the router's indicator lights when it fails?

Here's a useful test to see what the lines look like.

Register at DSLReports and run their Line Quality Tests. It's best to run this test with a direct wired connection to eliminate any wireless issues from the results. It's useful many times to run this test several times, and we'd like to see each of the results. Post the results link from the top of the test display page for each test run here.

The link to post is near the top of the page and looks like:

If you wish to post this result to a forum, please copy/paste this URL
http://www.dslreports.com/linequality/nil/2357195 <- sample only, yours will obviously be different!
and your IP will be disguised.

Copy/paste that link here.

Note: You will have to enable PING (ICMP) request response either in your router (if you have one), or in your computer's firewall for direct modem connections. This is very important to get the most important part of the test to run.

DSLReports

Here's also the Line Quality Tests FAQ to help you understand the results. This will answer some questions about the line quality display.

i also did suspect that it might be my isp as well because once we went over to our new isp all of this random cutting out just started to happen. 'm going to enable ICMP and run those tests and post the links. My router has been updated to the latest and it has been reset but still nothing. its a crap router anyway and im looking to invest in a better one. I will Enable ICMP when it is not late and post the results as soon as possibol

Well, you changed ISP providers and the issue started. Not much of a mystery what's going on!

Yep, the test isn't worth much without the pings enabled.
