Bad CPU usage on internet
I have a dell 1505 laptop that's about 3 years old. When I am on the internet just browsing it works fine. However, when I play any games on facebook or watch streaming video say like on Hulu my cpu usage goes up to 100% in a matter of just a few min. I've upgraded my internet and it still happens. My internet speed is up to 8 mgs download and with upload speed of up to 2 mgs. Now when I go to my sister's house I have absolutely now problem with my computer. I am wireless networking and I've bought a different router and used different modems but the problem still occurs. It's quite annoying to have always click out of the internet in order for the cpu usage to come down. It wasn't always like this. It just started happening a few months ago

What process(es) use the bulk of the CPU when you are having the problem?

Process Explorer is a good utility to check what's going on with individual processes.

The processes using the bulk of cpu usage are plugins followed by firefox and last desktop windows. So it'll say 43 by the plugins 12 by firefox and then 9 by desktop windows

The tasks you mention use Adobe Flash. Try uninstalling Flash and then reinstalling in all browsers.

You can startup Firefox in Safe Mode and disable all the plugins and see if that helps. If so, you can try to narrow down the plugin that is causing the issue.

Ok I tried doing that. It's still happening it just takes longer before the CPU usage goes too high. Why doesn't this happen at my sister's house? I also tried restoring my computer back to factory settings after backing up my data and it's still occuring.

A lot of people have the same issues with Flash games and Flash. It's a very common problem that affects a lot of people.

I've already run my antivirus. I found a trojan last week and removed it. I found it after I did a factory reset. Still I have problems with it. I'm just wondering why this doesn't occur in other locations.

Just saw that it only happens at home. If you go to a Flash application (Hulu, YouTube, Facebook game) while away it doesn't happen on the same laptop? That's really strange. You might try downloading the newest version of Flash from Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/ It enables GPU acceleration, and may drop the Flash using 100% of CPU issue.
