Strong Signal & Internet Connection But Server Not Found
Hello,

I have strong signal and it shows that I am connected to the Internet. However, I am getting a "Cannot Find Server" message.

I have a HP Pavillion ze4500 with XP and I am using Belkin Wireless Router 54g F5D7230-4.

Please help me solve this problem.

With just one site? Which one? It may be experiencing difficulties.

It is for all sites that I try. I just got this message "Internet Explorer cannot open search page".

If you're really connecting to the internet then the problem is likely a non-Windows firewall or security suite (or even another security application whose data definitions are out of date). Let's check that internet connection ...

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following commands:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

ping 209.191.122.70

ping yahoo.com

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Try a dynamic connection. In this article you, of course, want to select your wireless connection instead of the Local Area Connection.
