Solved: Cannot connect to internet still
Dell Inspiron 9400 - XP SP3 operating system - Have reinstalled the XP but it does not connect to the internet via the router
- model of router is Netgear DG834GT
- another laptop connects without any problem.
- the above had no problems in connecting previously.

Neither can I connect by cable.
The result of of the system are as follows:=

Yes ..
some one or some how the workstation access list was turned on the wireless setting of the router allowing access to those specified stations only. Password on its own was useless. So I simply turned it off.

All you need is WPA or even better WPA2/AES for protection, MAC filtering just gets in the way of your use of your network.
