Unhappy Solved: My two year old magically disappeared my wireless network connection!!!
About an hour ago my son found my laptop unattended and before I could stop him from doing any additional damage the computer was off. I restarted it and was no longer able to connect to my wireless network.

When I attempt to connect to a wireless network, I receive a message that no wireless networks were found in range.

My other laptop connects to the network and internet just fine.

I'm not sure if this is related, but my ip address is now 0.0.0.0, and when I try to renew/release it I receive the message "No operation ccan be performed on Local Area Connection while it has its media disconnected."

Device manager lists all network adapters as enabled and working properly.

Laptop is a Dell Inspiron E1505 with Windows XP.

Please help if you can...I'm stumped!

Hi and welcome to TSG.

Found a possible solution. Try pressing the Fn and F2 function keys to toggle the wireless on.

Glad to read you got it solved. Have you considered a prog like Toddler Keys for the future ... just in case?
