Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Try again, but this time use

ipconfig /all > C:\ipconfig.txt

Then open C:\ipconfig.txt with Notepad and copy the first part here--just include up to the first Tunnel adapter but forget the remainder.

Nuts. That's nuts to me! I'm the one to be sorry. I forgot that you have Windows 7, which does not allow a file to be written directly to the C drive.

The following should work:

ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt

ipconfig.txt

The first command will write the file to the the open directory (probably C:\Users\<your account> ) and the second will open it in Notepad. And then you can copy the first part to here.

Have a good trip and nice visit.

I edited out a bunch of the tunnel adapter descriptions from two of your posts simply to make the thread easier to navigate.

You seem to have a good wireless connection there. Correct?

There is no evidence of any ethernet hardware. Is that what you meant by inability to connect by LAN? Where you ever able to connect this PC by ethernet cable? What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters? What, if any, warnings or errors are anywhere in Device Manager?

What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters?

Plug an Ethernet cable into the network adapter "Local Area Connection" Failed

An Ethernet cable looks like a telephone cable but with larger connectors on the ends. Plug this cable into the opening on the back or side of the computer. Make sure the other end of the cable is plugged into the router. If that does not help, try using a different cable.

I don't understand your last post. I infer from the very first part that you are answering my post # 11 questions with 'yes' and 'no,' respectively. Do I at least have that right?
