Solved: Transferring .sis files and theme files onto your memory card via a card read
I purchased a nokia 5230 recently, it has the S60 V5 OS. Was wondering how you can transfer theme files and .sis files onto your phone and install them. I tried putting a .sis file but I cannot locate it. Please help.

How did you put it onto your Nokia, the Nokia suite or Windows Explorer ? Did you use the memory card or phone memory ?

Easy way to do it:

Connect your phone to your PC in "Mass Storage mode".

From Windows Explorer (or other file manager) navigate to your memory card (should show up as a removable drive) and create a new folder.

Copy whatever you want to from your PC folder to the folder on your memory card. Eject phone using "safely Remove Devices".

On your phone, navigate to the folder you created using File manager (Menu>Applications>File Mgr) and run the file by double-tapping with your stylus or finger.

I hope you enjoy your new 5230. I have a 5800 and if it is anything to go by, you should have a great time.

One tip: As far as possible, and wherever the option is offered, install all apps and files to your memory card. The phone will slow to a crawl if your fill up the internal memory.

Also, being an S60 phone, you may be required to "sign" all apps before you can install them. PM me for how to do that if you are interested.
