A few vacation shots.
WE took a short tour of southern Alberta then popped into BC just to say hello. These are just a few I culled from the several dozen we took; I wanted a lot more but it was just too hot to.

We flew into Vulcan to say hello to Spock!

The railroad and mining were very important in the development of this area. Below is the High Level trussel bridge in Lethbridge, just over a mile in length and 314 feet above the river.

Half the town of Frank was buried in 1903, along with 70 people when 90,000,000 tons of limestone let loose from Turtle mountain. These pictures do it no justice. The rock rolled down into the valley and back up the other side. The only removal that was done was to reconstruct the highway and railroad tracks.

Those pics sure brought back a pile of memories because I've been to every one of 'em. I love the bridge because it's an engineering nightmare. You are right about the slide. It's incredible that much rock could move that far.

Next time you want to look for ET type places go to St.Paul, Alberta because they have the worlds first UFO Landing pad. I have been very drunk there while waiting for my ex-wife to show up. That was many, many years ago.
