I noticed that this picture posted very large and I am unfamiliar with how to compress it or make it smaller. Any suggestions?

Nice picture cjthib

If you open the piture with the software that came with the camera or any image editor you should find an option to resize...something in the 600x400 range is good for general web display along with a middle of the road jpg compression.

Save the new size with a different name so the original is preserved

Talking vacation2
I am trying this as an experiment to see if this picture is a little smaller. My first vacation picture (heron) was huge and hopefully this one is smaller. Thanks buck52 for the advise.

Howdy cjthib

I'm going to merge this with your other vacation thread...no need for two...

that is a good size and a good picture but...

It looks to me as if you changed the aspect ratio when you resized...the poor guy looks a little squeezed

what program are you using?

When you resize in PhotoImpact7 you see "Keep aspect ratio" with a lock under it. Make sure it is locked by clicking on it.

PhotoImpact7 has been a great learning experience for me for the past year but there is still so much of this softwareto learn. I did go back in and try that with another photo and that certainly was the problem. Thanks again hewee

You can look at these PhotoImpact tutorials.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...pact+tutorials

Also there is PhotoImpact Pro 8.5
http://www.novadevelopment.com/produ...w/default.aspx

It is not from Ulead but it is still the same program. I don't know why there is the same program by someone else but there is. It looks the same too and even the web site is the same as at Ulead on it.

PhotoImpact Pro Tutorials

So you should find some help at these links and I bet your find more at some of the sites.

I have a problem that I am sure someone can answer.....I have been working in PhotoImpact 7 and have changed my camera setting to increase my resolutions. Great pictures but how do I change the settings (in PhotoImpact 7) to reduce resolutions (pixels) when I want to upload them onto the wildlife thread. I now understand how to keep aspect ratio but when I try to upload my pictures they do not go through.....hewee,buck any help/comments???
