Abundant moisture from recent Super Typhoon Melor in the western

Beatiful birds.

We will welcome the much needed rain! Could do without the wind though!

Hard freeze this morning. Right now, 0500 local time, with 2-3 more hours for temp to drop, the temp is 29 F. This is the first frost/freeze here. Came close yesterday, however.

Predicted heavy rain for Friday did not materialize. Had only 0.12" from off and on, very light rain.

{redoak} because I don't like the growing season to end.

0.23" of rain yesterday, Tuesday. 31F. right now as I post at 0530 local time. More cold mornings ahead, unfortunately. But, then, it is the middle of October!

Neat bird pics.

We had quite a rain storm yesterday! Lots of trees down. But that's to be expected in the "city of trees". Lots of very old tall trees here. The sun is trying to peek out today. Lots of cleanup work going on.

Great bird pics once again,

Sounds like you've both had a change in the weather & some rain also, ... we've had some good Spring rains & even snow on the higher mountains & quite cold for this time of year, the rain has helped the dams a bit thank goodness, need lots more though.

Here the well below normal temperatures continue. Right now the "normal" average daily temp is 50 F., but we have been running some 15 degrees colder. Yesterday, the low was 25.9 F. here at "the farm." This morning it was 33 F. Only 35 F. as I post at 0845 local time.

The first pic was taken by a gal who lives in my "old home town" on Long Island, NY, USA. She posts excellent "shots."

The stormy weather along the eastern coast of the USA over the weekend did not penetrate this far north in eastern NY. I had absolutely no precip of any kind. However, it was colder than normal.

Low temp here yesterday morning was 33. However, by mid afternoon it was up to 56. Last time it was that warm was Oct. 10th. We expect "warm" temps for the foreseeable future.
