Very nice weather yesterday and Wednesday, although there were below freezing temps both mornings. However, that has to be expected in mid-November in these parts. Appreciate the sunshine in a month that is regularly very lacking thereof.

Pics of a western and an eastern USA junco.

Had 0.89" of rain on Friday last. Heavy overcast all day Saturday and again yesterday until 1500 hrs. local time.

After today, the rest of the week looks bleak!

Lovely bird pics RedOak,

We went for a drive down the Peninsula today & were sitting outside a cafe when we saw a little Zebra Finch hopping along the low windowsill inside the cafe !!

A girl went over & picked it up & released it outside, but it was very unusual to see it in a built up area unless it escaped from an aviary, they are wild in the country areas though.

"YM": Most interesting finch. Thanks for posting the picture.

Our "gloom" just carries on! The forecasters said a sunny afternoon for yesterday and a sunny day for today. They couldn't be more wrong.

I will be absent on Friday because of a Thanksgiving trip. Expect to be back posting on Monday.

Today an apparent hawk that is also found in Australia. See beak!

Thanks RedOak,

It was strange to see it in a built up area.

That Hawk has a mean beak

We have had a severe storm here, lots of trees down & lightening strikes yesterday with plenty of lovely rain, ..... I've just been out with a torch hunting snails

Thanksgiving "4 day weekend" was mostly overcast until 1500 yesterday, when it became sunny. Unfortunately, after midnight today light rain invaded, and today is likely to be "lousy."

Neat Killdeer.

Getting cold here, but still sunny. I like this kind of weather.

Today we are going to enjoy a break from the "lousy" weather of recent past. However, rain is predicted for tonight into tomorrow.

{redoak} still trying to
