At one time I thought I had so called "Thanksgiving," "Christmas" and "Easter" cacti. However, the three are not really tied to the calendar, but they are of different coloration. Most enjoyable in any event.

Had a low temp Saturday of 23 F. My calendula flowers were partially affected but the plants are well. The yellow pon pon mums are AOK.

Upon further inspection, I am pleasantly surprised to find my calendulas still have many nice flowers despite a low temp of 23 F. last Sat. Perhaps there was a "microclimate" where they are growing. In the past 25F. was their end.

Yesterday I brought inside 12 potted geraniums and put them in front of two windows with a southeastern exposure. In the past, Gs have bloomed well in that situation once the daylight hours begin to increase the end of next month.

"ym": Sorry to learn of the fate of your roses!

Just yesterday the pic of a "Christmas cactus" blossom was on the site I visit each day. That blossom is identical to those that are now on the first of mine. I attach it below. I have several specimens of that variety, each in a different bud/flower stage.
