Just cruising and looking at fire-fighting aircraft.
Came across a interesting photo ---a ex-naval aircraft -- in a very radical dive down a canyon . Probably taken in California. Got to hand it those guys , they are good

I love aircraft and did a lot of flying myself ---little single engine aircraft --so the love never dies
I alway wonder about posting photos here because most are posting their own photos.
I think I will continue if I see interesting stuff , unless someone objects.

I share your love of aircraft Fidelista. Take a look at these. At the time these pics were taken both these were waiting final civil aviation clearance having been restored 100 % back to 0 hours.
Tiger Moth and a Piper Cub.

I hope people post to this thread as I really enjoy looking at various aircraft.
I have flown a long list of single engine aircraft and spent almost all my money doing so--when I was young. Did some pretty wild stuff sometimes, as young men will do.
I didnt take many photos and have reasons not to post some, but somewhere I have one a friend took of of me in a Piper Pa-12 over N. Calif { we were flying a loose formation}. I will try to find it and scan it.
I soloed on my 16th birthday, and broke every FAA (among others} regulation ever written!
It was a great time . I was even chased by miltary helios over the "delta" region of San Fransico bay--- miltary small boat training going on --and I was "buzzing" them in a Super Cub, they got so close I could see their faces! .
Most fun , and something I could never afford --The T-6/SNJ or Harvard. Got to fly one twice! It was the biggest thing I have flown.
I was privledged to fly many types --simply because others knew my love and offered.
Something I am forever thankful for. >f

I wanted to post this photo , not for its beauty but for its historic irony.
Pictured is a the German Messersmidt Bf 109 {Late model Gustuv} with the orginal Daimler --Mercedes engine. Most post war 109's had engines replaced with Rolls-Royce.
It served in the young Israeli Airforce --- kind of ironic.
In the backround is the British Spitfire , North American P-51, and a Russian Yak ???{I think} which all flew in the Israeli Airforce's early days. >f
