Mt. Baker for Wimpy369
This is a photo a friend of mine took while in Bellingham.
Sometime ago you asked for a pic from our side of the line so here it is.
God bless,
Brett

Hi Brett....
Thanks for posting that picture. It's funny but I never noticed that scene from Bellingham before, then again I wasn't into photography so never looked for it. It's hard to see clearly from that shot but what I do see it's quite different than our view.... very rugged. I'm going to have to take a run down there in the summer to see what I can capture. It looks very interesting.

I also took a look at some of his shots in his gallery ... very nice. I've bookmarked it and will look at all his stuff when I get a bit more time.

Merry Christmas
Guy

Edit: I thought this would be a great time to post one of mine from the Canadian side just to show the difference. I hope you don't mind.

Wimpy-I live south about 60 some miles but cannot get clear shots of Baker because of the foothills (I am East of Sedro-Woolley Washington.
BUT
If you drive south just to see Baker on a very clear day-There is a view on state Highway 9 just north of Big-lake thats spectacular but only on a very clear day. I never have a camera available, but will try to get a photo-I will owe you one.

I appreciate the info. Maybe brindle can ask his friend in which area he was when he took that shot.

Even though I have been to Bellingham many times I don't know the area well enough to know where a good view of the mtn. is. To many trips to the stores and of course the bars way back when.

I believe he was on the Alaska ferry when that photo was taken.
Always glad to see any and all photos taken for the area so hope you will post more and others will join in as well.

I'll be home in June if all goes well, yeppie (sp)!

Where are you?

I have some colorful shots I took of a meadow at the ski area on Baker this Sept. I know I've posted them in my thread but this one seems fitting so I'll repost here after work. Funny they call it the Mt.Baker ski area when it's actually Northeast of the actual mtn. It's more so in the foothills area actually.

I'm in the middle of an Indiana cornfield. No offense intended to anyone
I skied Mt. Baker many times when I was younger. It was always the first to get snow and open.
Any photos you have from your area would be great too. It's all the beautiful P.N.W.

Here's three shots from the ski area and one off the back of a ferry just to remind you of home.

Canon 30D. The lens at the time was a 70 - 300 IS USM which has since been traded for a 70 - 200 f2.8 IS USM.
EDIT: I lied. The one from the ferry was the 70 - 300, the other 3 with the 70 - 200. Sorry about that.
