#31 | Beautiful photos, Guy and I love how you present them. The nature ones are my favorite, but it was great how you caught the propellers (?) on the helicoter shot | | Distinguished Member with 10,793 posts. | | Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Fraser Valley Area of B.C. Experience: Coupla times |

#32 | Thanks poochie and hannab.
I've been practicing quite a bit with the helicopters to try and get the blade motion blur just right. It's actually quite difficult because the main rotor blades spin quite slowly in comparison to airplane props.
MQ I'll fire 'em off to you after work this evening. Thanks for the comments. | | Distinguished Member with 2,545 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Why I'm right here. Experience: With what?!! LOL |

#36 | The " Royal Hudson ", an old steam train, is going on it's maiden outing after being dormant for about 10 years so I'm going to head out on Sunday and try to snap a few. It's a magnificent beast. They are talking about some sun for Sunday so keep your fingers crossed. Here's a shot someone else took. http://www.chrisharris.com/gallery/g-royal-hudson.html

I've been practicing a lot with choppers to try and get enough blade blur but it's tough I tell ya.

the tail rotor is all but lost in your photo...

buck | Yes I know. The reason for that is because the main rotor rotates at a speed that's considerably slower than the tail rotor. If you capture the tail rotor and blur it to where it's appealing to the eye then the main rotor stops in it's tracks and is plainly visible without any blur. You can't have it both ways so I'm trying to find a happy medium. | | Account Disabled with 8,750 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2001 Location: Mass. |
