I haven't done much with this thread for a while so I thought I would devote the day to shooting aircraft. I wanted to concentrate on float planes but it was very quiet at the sea plane base and I gave up after sitting around for a few hours.

Here's a good optical illusion. Keep in mind this pic has be heavily cropped. The Cessna is probably 1 1/2 miles away and the 747 at least 5 if not more. The Cessna might have been at 3000' where as the 747 much much higher. It was far enough away for me not to be able to ID the aircraft type until I got home and zoomed in on it.

Some of you may remember I have talked about this as being a hobby from days gone bye.

I decided today to visit a local R/C flying field and whack off a few shots to bring back a few memories. These are quite large and run a chainsaw type gas engine... the same type of stuff I used to fly.

Without further adieu I present you with some large scale aircraft....

Great job Guy

I have a couple of RC helicoptors that I have not yet mastered...

I wreck them ...fix them ... then wreck them again... someday I might get it right...

Thanks for the compliments folks....

buck I gotta tell you in the 13 years I flew R/C I never had the desire to fly a chopper. I've seen to many of them beat themselves to death. One quick fart and it's and your bird has been re-kited. I do respect anyone that can actually control them though and I've seen a few guys that are amazing on the sticks.

The Abbotsford Airshow is taking place this weekend and most of the acts practice the day before it starts so I thought I would try a grab a few shots after work. I managed to catch these acts.... I missed a lot of opportunities during the day because I couldn't sneak away from work. Speaking of sneaking I managed to get into an area that I wasn't supposed to be in so I was quite close to the flight line.
