trip to ranch
time to reboot the brain. Some low level formatting, couple zero fills done, and one massive defrag and consistency checker completed.

Much needed.

first one is my car at the gate, 2 is the ranch from my car, 3 is grampa v and monkey boy v.

now for the fun stuff. Nailed four glow sticks to a horizontal dead tree, paced it off at 88 yards, laser range finder confirmed it at 88.1 yards. Popped off about 20 rounds with a .22 that my dad said was sighted tight, but couldn't see the reticule as it was pitch stinking dark.

Went down to my car, popped off a few more with the dome light, same problem. Macguyver'ed it, put a mini-maglite in my mouth so I pick up the reticule, and proceded to pick them off. The first has the entrance, the second the exit, the third the distance so you can get a perspective of a hanging glow stick out there. Felt good about that, considering how bad I did with the handgun.

Again, needed this badly. Felt good to get away from everything, no computers, no cell phones, no nothing. Cribbage and Nathan's gameboy was about it. Knew I needed it because I hit the rack about 10 and woke up about 9.........well earned couple day's off, can't wait to go back.

enjoy, folks. Thanks for the time, and I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did taking them.

Valis, enjoyed viewing all the pics of your visit to the ranch.

Especially the ones of Monkey Boy and Grandpa. He's a handsome little guy.

thanks, everyone, for the response.......actually, hewee, that's exactly what we are planning on doing, is tearing that one down and building a true log cabin farm out there, roof and all. Just like the old wooden sets we all had as kids.

Glad to see you back, harry....

The trip was a godsend......needed badly to get away from all the junk in my life, grab that big metal lever inside my cerebellum and flush.

Worked wonders.

glad you enjoyed the pics........glad to finally share something of value with you all (or rather, y'all, as I should be saying).

I need a big ol' mental scrubbing, and this did it. Feel almost like a new man. One more day would've done it, but now I know where it is, and I got keys to it, so whenever I need to, I can retreat to what I grew up with. Looking up and seeing countless amounts of stars and the actual arm of the milky way, instead of part of Orion and Venus and Saturn...........gad, it was soooooooooooooo nice to get away.......................

me happy now. Haven't banned anyone since I got back.
