Nice shots Looks a beautiful part of the world, particularly this time of the year. Often thought of paying a visit, but afraid I might run into Stephen King

One with fog surrounding Mount Kineo on Lake Moosehead . Man I bet the leaves would be beautiful this week in that location.

I have no interest in the 7D because they added video capabilities. It's either a DSLR or a video camera as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure you know I owned a 40D. Well I bought a 50D in August and had full intentions of using my 40D as a second body. I was so impressed with the difference in quality between the two that I couldn't justify keeping the 40D so I sold it. If you are considering a new camera set your sights on the 50D. You won't be disappointed. The 50D has dropped a lot in price because of the new one and that was a good thing for me.

Yea, I agree I could care less about video on an DSLR . Wow good to know that about the 50D and maybe it will come down even more in price.
Nice that you have a 50D and I bet the lens adjustment thingy is a bonus on it .
Have you used that and is it easy to use ?

I haven't used it and from what I've heard from others it's a bit tedious but the end results are worth it. The reason I haven't used it is because I'm quite satisfied with the outcome of both the body and my lens right out of the box. Maybe I'll do something this winter when I have more time.

One thing I should tell you is I have shot upwards to ISO 2000 or so and have to zoom in a lot with editing software to see any grain.

Here's some 50D examples in my thread. The last shot could have been from the 40D but I'm too lazy to check for sure.
