This is just a shout out to all of you Fastasy sports nuts!

On the local NPR radio station this morning, on the Only a Game sports program, Bill Littlefield did a short but very interesting interview with AJ Mass author of "How Fantasy Sports Explains The World". The interesting part is where Fatasy Sports apparently have a lot in common with stock trading. Go Figure!

‘How Fantasy Sports Explains The World’.

Fantasy sports leagues are, of course, intrinsically goofy. “Owners” in such leagues try to outsmart each other by drafting and trading players who are generating actual statistics in real (rather than virtual) games. The idea, of course, is to buy low and sell high, and I suppose when you rid yourself of a linebacker just a day or so before he is lost for the season to injury, the rush must be considerable, albeit perverse. If you’re already involved in such vicarious hijinx, or if you’re inclined to become so involved because the winter is long where you are living, then perhaps this is the book for you.

Have any of you Fantasy players made that connection yet? As for my part - I'm going to recommend the book to my best friend who has gotten involved in stock trading (he's a water geologist aka Hydrologist by education and work history.
