#61 | Hi-
I have to skip the Pig Roast this year myself- have had an illness since 2003 that requires 4 checkups a year, and next one is July 29-30, it requires staying away from any alcohol for two weeks before tests.
Has something to do with the anesthesic for the procedure...since I do want to wake up from that, I decided I would skip the party.
There is just no way I could go to a Pig Roast and stay out of the brew, no way! It's hard though, sitting down at the house just 5 miles away. If it was easier to reschedule tests at the VA hospital I would- but, at VA it means waiting more months than I care to. I already am overdue for the procedure. | | Junior Member with 2 posts.

#62 | hey Sorry to hear =(, You missed a decent pig roast, Ive been going since i was little, and im not exactly that big yet, hah, i think i was the only sober person there at 2 in the morning(but that would be because im 17) i was just curious and did a google search just like 3/4 of everyone else..i have heard endless stories from both of my parents about the rooney fest's they were friends with dave since before rooney started, and they all still annually do a dinner and hang out. Nice to be able to see the rooney on the internet, ive always wanted to hear more about it from more than just my parents point of view. Any chance you could email me those pictures you have? | | Moderator with 14,997 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2002 Location: NY Experience: Junkware Jouster |

#64 | Just goot back from the pig roast yesterday. Tried to go to work today but only made it for 30 min. and had to come back home. The storm was intence for a while. I was still up under the pavillion and we stayed dry. My tarp stayed up as well and the tent was dry. I guess it wasnt as big a storm as they had in Binghamton though. Record size hail and all. I looked for you Byteman hope everything goes well for you. Will send healthy vibes your way. For anyone who attended I was the one with the bubble wand and the stuffed alligator. | | Junior Member with 3 posts. | | Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: Port Crane Experience: i type with two fingers |

#65 | This is for Happy Feet Sue Well I don’t know if this will help. But if my memory is correct “Claire” was the doll that loved to dance. The last time that I saw her was in front of the stage back in 95. I think it was Saturday night around midnight. I just made it back up to the top from my spot in the field. I had to restock my little over the shoulder cooler. And I stopped next to the soundboard to rest and re-hydrate. My buddy’s girlfriend grabbed a beer and headed back into the crowd to get her feet dirty. Then my buddy showed up wondering if I seen Sharon. And I told him she just went back in. So he slowly drifted out of sight in the maze of tie-dye and hemp clothing. And as soon as he was out of sight. “Claire popped up and started to crowd surf. At that point I thought it was funny because we pretended it was Scott. She bounced and flipped around for about ten minutes. Then she fell out of sight. And as soon as she did. Scott popped back into view. And we laughed even harder. Scott asked if she came back for another brew and we told him no. So he went back in. And would you believe it as soon as he was lost in the crowd again. Up popped Claire. And of course we are just about pissing ourselves now because she kind of resembled Scott in size. Flipping around the mob. Then it happened. I think some fool ripped her apart. Now I vaguely remember seeing multiple pieces of her being thrown around and stuffing floating in the air. And it wasn’t so funny anymore. Scott and Sharon made it back out and they made the trip from Atlanta Georgia to Rooney mountain for two more years until its demise. But I don’t remember seeing “Claire” ever again. I think I have it on VHS some place. Hopefully it’s a different Claire. Tomahawk | | Junior Member with 2 posts.

#66 | Most people stayed dry but some were so drunk they didnt even care they were so drunk, it was also funny as hell watching the drunk people sliding down the bank on the wet grass next to the tent, haha. | | Junior Member with 11 posts. | | Join Date: Mar 2008 Experience: Beginner |

#67 | the last time i saw clair someone was holding her arm hostage. Between every band break someone would go up to the mike with new ransom demands. they finnally got her arm back but then they were ransoming off the hand. This went on for days and I still dont know if her hand ever showed up | | Junior Member with 4 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2008 Experience: Intermediate |

#68 | Well Dang!!
I just read some random thing about camping in the rain and it made me think of the RooneyFest. I googled Ronneyfest on a whim and found this forum topic. I attended MANY Rooneys from # 8 (I still have the T-shirt) until the end. I think I missed one or two. We used to camp toward the top of the mountain, just downhill from the stage. The last 5-6 years we had a big yellow and white tent and a Rooney Road road sign. I think we finally donated the sign (it was a real street sign) to Dave B. I'll have to dig up some pictures. Cheers for now. | | Junior Member with 3 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2008 Experience: Intermediate |

#69 | Clair is Alive! Claire has been in my attic since the last Rooney Fest. She is in fairly good condition, but the last few Rooneys were rough on her. She lost her hair (wig) in ’96 and was replaced with a different wig the final year. Most all of her “joints” have been either glued or taped (emergency Rooney fix). I don’t remember how many Rooneys Claire attended, but I would guess it to be about 10. I attended my first Rooney in 1983 and never missed one after that. I heard about the festival from the “Sweet Patootie Band” who played at the Rooney for years. They were responsible for getting many central New Jersey fans to Deposit. I would be happy to donate Claire to Dave B. to do with whatever he would like. I would like for her to be included in the “Rooney Fest” museum. Can someone please contact me on how to get a hold of Dave B. so I can arrange the “adoption”? http://forums.techguy.org/picture.ph...&pictureid=615 | | Moderator with 14,997 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2002 Location: NY Experience: Junkware Jouster |

#71 | Hi Byteman,
Woodstock occured in August 1969 - not in 1968! I was there, though not for the whole event - mostly Saturday after driving all night long after work on Friday and even had a ticket, but could've got in free - because I was in the military at the time an had to be back on duty Monday morning. Left the place at midnight Saturday to get back on time - it was a long drive.

#72 | Hi Tom, Yes, I did put that date in wrong! I was overseas during Woodstock, and I got home on leave just a week after the whole thing.
I made up for missing it! Bethel is only about 100 miles from here, some friends of mine did go, and still talk about it....
That's about all anyone did talk about, for a good long time! | | Junior Member with 3 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2008 Experience: Intermediate |

#75 | Pictures from the 1993 Rooney Fest A few more pictures that I scanned from the 1993 Rooney fest. http://brianandpatty.com/1993%20Roon...%20rooney.html
A called Dave B. today (9/5/2008) and left a message with him about donating Claire to him. Haven't heard back from him yet. Thanks Byteman for the number HappyFeetSue, it was your post about Claire that I realized that Dave was looking for her. Thank You!!!
I purchased a new wig for Claire that resembles the original more closely. You can buy anything on Ebay!
Does anybody have any pictures or video of Claire? Could you please post them or email them to me. The earlier the pictures the better. I am trying to figure out the first year that Claire attended.
