Hey I Rooney'd!!

Pictures are legal, even if what was in them wasn't..... one friend who had bunches of pics lost theirs in a fire and they had no copies.

Nobody has the early fest pictures as we were too young to care about photos then and it was hard to focus anything.....

I have a "I survived the 16th annual Rooney" bumper sticker (that was 1992)

That one has a picture that resembles Dave B in the stovepipe hat on it.

Designed by MaryGrace.

I have a good amount of Security T's from over the years, and bought some of the regular T's they had for sale

Hey, I'm young so I didn't go to it but i read about it in a book. In the book it said that it was in Deposit,NY . And it said that one of the characters in the book was trying to start it again. They said it was a blues festival. But this was a fictional book.

Hiya, emoconnell!

Mostly bluegrass but usually the bands mixed the music up some....some southern rock, of course some blues....

There IS a new Rooney Fest, the details are in the previous posts in this thread....it's a much more family oriented type festival, held near Deposit, but not at the old farm.

Wow it's getting close to the Pig Roast time of year....

Music from the 2008 Roast, which I had to miss >>> http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=46570943

Here's a little group, some friends....playing at a birthday bash for Dave B http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=34030205

Smile Holy Rooney
Wow. I just happened to google "Rooney Fest Deposit NY" and look at what I found. My father, Uncle, and Dave started the Rooney a few years before I was born, and since then I haven't missed a year. I go to Dave's multiple Bday bashes throughout the year as well the annual Rooney Mtn. Pig Roast which happens to be next Saturday. In 2005 I went to a concert in Philly, PA and saw a man wearing a Rooney shirt from the early 90's and had to stop to ask if that was actually his shirt and whether or not he's been there, turns out he remembered my family and Dave as well. Its a small world, even smaller Fest.

Hey! Enjoyed the pig roast and we did get some good weather for a change. Never went to rooney but i enjoyed the postings. Beautiful site. Know Dave a little, cause we like some of the same bands. He can still dance! Dirt Farm opened, followed by Hee Haw Nightmare, from Ithaca, who played to around 3 am.
Woman I work with went to 2 or 3 rooneys years ago. Said it was a great time. She now lives around 8 miles away. Says when it was still going they could hear the music where she lives. I'm posting a link with a few shots from myspace page. hope it works. Rooney may be gone , but the spirit lives on. twisty

Hi johntwisty

Great shots of the Roast! That was definitely some of the better weather this month.

I couldn't get to the Roast this year but things should work out for next one.

Hi johntwisty,

That link no longer works, says you need to Share the pics again (might be it is time limited?) I did sign up at the site and all.... we don't have to sign up, if the sharing works, we can see the pics directly from the link.

Here is how to share the pics with a link:

Share a Photo or Album with a Link

To get started, follow the steps above for selecting a photo or album. Please see "How to Share a Photo or Albums, Step by Step" for directions.

Once you have selected a photo or album, follow these steps to share it with a link:

Click on the "share with a link" tab on the share page.
In the tab, you'll see a box with the web address link for your photo or album.
To copy the link, click on the "copy link" button just below the link box.
Paste the link in an email or instant message, or on your blog or social network page. Your friends and family will be able to access your photos directly through the link.

Hi Couriant, If you mean football I'm in the US, don't follow UK football, so I cannot decode your somewhat cryptic reply in this thread which I did start.

yes it is a UK Football reference. The player's name is Wayne Rooney, also on the England national team. Decent player, just cant stand him

is it too late to visit the mountain?
I haven't stopped smiling since I stumbled on the this thread this morning. Was in a mood for something different and tried searching out the susquehanna hat co. for some music. Hoping it's not to late to make one more journey to the mountain. Living in NC now, but it would be worth the drive to get my toes dirty! Still have the clothes that I wore to the 3 fests I was able to attend...mud stains and all! Oh..the memories I don't remember! I just remember you had to smile. Where can i get info on upcoming picnics?
