SunPass battery replacement
I know this isn't a computer issue, but...

I want to replace the battery in the SunPass transponder (used for automatic payment of tolls). The battery (CR2032) is very tight. Apparently there is a special tool for removing this. The website (www.sunpass.com) states it is available from Radio Shack, but all the ones I call say they do not sell it. Does anyone know where I can find one? There is a picture of it at the SunPass website. Thanks.

Looks like you could use almost any thin, but firm piece of metal to pop it out. Carefully try a razor blade. Maybe a spark plug gap tool. An eyglass repair screw driver.

If it's anything like regular CR2032 battery holders, then an eyeglass repair screw driver will work fine. Be careful when you pop it out though, someitmes there's a spring underneath, and the battery can go flying pretty far...I lost the battery for my TI-89 calculator in my room somewhere because of that.

Thanks guys....
The SunPass transponder is a really tight fit, but perhaps they will work. Besides, when I find something to work really well....time to market it..LOL

Radio Shack does carry the CR2032.
Radio Shack does carry the CR2032, Radio Shack Catalog # 23-162. You will find it on the battery carousel in front of the (Point-Of-Sale) POS counter. They have always carried it and I can only say that when you called that you had gotten hold of a new employee or an employee who does not know his products or does not care to help customers on the phone. I would lean more towards the inexperienced employee, because if he was either of the latter ones, he would no longer be employed there.
