They won't find anything after all this time...

Dutch investigators in Aruba search yard of one-time suspect in Holloway case

The Associated Press

Published: April 27, 2007

ORANJESTAD, Aruba: Dutch police on Friday searched the yard of a one-time suspect in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, the Aruban prosecutors' office said.

Using thin metal rods and shovels, police and forensic investigators churned up the earth outside the home of Joran van der Sloot, the last person known to have seen Holloway alive before she vanished nearly two years ago during a school vacation on the Dutch Caribbean island.

"The investigation has never stopped and the Dutch authorities are completely reviewing the case for new indications," Vivian van der Biezen, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, told reporters gathered outside the home.

About 20 investigators arrived from the Netherlands on April 16, van der Biezen said. She said they also searched the home, but she could not say why. They left after a couple hours inside the walled property.

A statement from the prosecutors' office said: "The team has indications that justify a more thorough search." (AFTER ALMOST TWO YEARS! )

Holloway, an 18-year-old from Mountain Brook, Alabama, vanished in the early hours of May 30, 2005, the last day of a five-day vacation to celebrate her high school graduation with 124 other students.

Hi Cari!

I'd rather know my daughter was dead...than wonder the rest of my life where she was...I feel so bad for Natalee's family...

Hi Angel

I know what you mean. I just can't imagine what her mother is going through.

Her Mom can think one of two things:

1. Natalee is dead!

2. Natlaee is being held captive in some other country being forced to do who knows what...

Not very good choices for the rest of her life...

I can just imagine what her mother is going through. I still believe all three plus the father are implicated in her disapperance.

Natalee Holloway's Stepfather Seeks Divorce More bad news
Friday, January 05, 2007

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — The stepfather of Natalee Holloway, the Alabama teen who disappeared in Aruba in 2005, has filed for divorce from Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty.

George "Jug" Twitty filed divorce papers in Jefferson County Circuit Court on Dec. 29. The court filing said the couple separated Dec. 15 and have "such a complete incompatibility of temperament that the parties can no longer live together."

The Birmingham News reported the court filing Friday.

Jug Twitty declined comment on the divorce proceedings, and a phone message left for Beth Twitty on Friday was not immediately returned.

Agreed.

If nothing else, the father helped them cover up whatever it is that happened. (Which shows you where his boy got his values)

That is such a shame. So these guys have managed to destroy lives yet again.

Wow.... the story doesn't mention the reason for the divorce yet you seem to know it's the boys fault. How about filling us in on the details.

I'm sorry -- didn't know I wasn't allowed to post my viewpoint. There have been countless cases where children went missing and it totally destroyed the parents' marriage -- even if one is a step-parent. It simply appeared to me that that was the case here.

I understand that but deep down there are always other underlying reasons for a marriage breakup. The disappearance of his stepdaughter may have been the straw that broke their back.

I'm sure you're probably right, there. It's never just one thing when a marriage breaks up. (Speaking from experience.)
