Candy....I'm only going to hijack your "sign" thread one more time. My husband brought this sign home to me today and when I translate it using my AltaVista translator, It translates to English: "all the Coca-Cola flavor" at the top and "tomato a rest" at the bottom of the sign. Its spanish and I was wondering if you knew what that bottom part meant?

It means 'take a rest'

Or literally, YOU take a rest. Toma is to take.......te refers to 'you' --- descanso is rest. In the marketing scheme of things, they are probably trying to tell you to 'take a break and enjoy the flavor of a coca cola'

I'm not by any means fluent, but I know enough to be dangerous.............and find the restroom, order a beer and the basic stuff

Actually, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being fluent, I'd give myself about 6.5 to 7

Back to restrooms....this was on the OUTSIDE of the door...........

All conversations between foreigners in China deal with restrooms......where is the best one for example.....we finally got a star rating....0 stars, no restroom, 1 star, hole in floor, no paper....2 star, hole in floor with paper....3 star, chances of finding 'real toilet' --- no paper.....4 star, real toilet and possible paper.....5 star, real toilet, real paper.

6 star, hand soap and paper towels
