It may seem funny that way, but it is the truth in most cases.
Place your burdens on the Lord and cast them away from the worry department in your mind.
It doesn't mean that you don't have to deal with the issues you need to, just that you needn't over-worry about them if you trust in the Lord to provide for your needs.
Granted, He doesn't always deliver on the things that we "want" but when we trust in Him, he'll always make sure we get what we need.
You can never out give God. Place your trust in Him, and draw closer to him, and he'll place more trust in you with provision.
If you can find a way to trust in God, you'll find a contentment that surpasses even your happiest days. And you know what? You're really start to live at that point. Your spirits will be lifted high on wings like eagles, and no matter what darts the enemy throws your way, you'll be able to smile and knock them down harmlessly to the ground.
I'm telling you this because it is absolutely the truth.
If you're not attending a church, then get in to a contemporary Christian church where there will be lots of people in your age group with smiles on their faces.
Calvary Chapel is good with that. The music is pretty good there too. But don't limit your choices. Just make sure that the church bases their theology on the Bible, and you'll do fine.
Strangely enough, when (not if, but when) you find the right church, you'll notice that you WANT to be there at church whenever the doors are open. Whether there's a service or not. When you find such a church, there will be others who feel the same, so you will not be alone.
Take care Litomo.
Prayer works. And right now, I'm praying for your contentment so that you can finally start living again. | Litomo, Mike speaks with much wisdom...do as he says. God will bless you. Try to hang in there until Social security does its thing. My prayers are with you.
Mike, I am so sorry for your loss. Will pray for you and your wife. Give her a lot of TLC in the weeks to come...this will be a tough one for her. About your mother-in-law's salvation..only she knows for sure what was in her heart. If she really meant business and accepted Christ at that time then it is real. Sometimes some people's growth in the Lord is stunted. Sometimes we let circumstances get in the way of drawing closer to God. This may have happened to her. I will pray for both of you for healing and spiritual strength in the days to come. For we know God can give us the strength in these difficult times. But you need prayer warriors holding you up to the Lord. So I am glad your pride did not keep you from posting your prayer request.
HUGS and prayers,

#1548 | Thank you, Mike.
I was somewhat reluctant to post that...but in any case, it really doesn't matter now does it?!
To be honest, coming to TSG and being with friends online is what helps me get through my terrible time. I now prefer to be as far as possible away from the depressing effects that my family manages to create.
So far, it's helping, but their attempts to get rid of me while I'm trying to get myself help and a place to live isn't helping.
I'll hang in there, though it's hard right now...but I be there.
After all, can't take the easy way out now can I? I did, after all, make a promise to a friend of mine...and I don't break promises unless circumstances make me break promises anyway.

CCM, dreams can be strange.
But just wondering, have you ever had something happen that makes you feel like you've been through that before in some way, form, or shape, or even a dream. Deja Vu maybe. | | Distinguished Member with 95,622 posts. | | Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: UK Experience: I'm learning all the time |
