Hi poochee: I've been watching the familes of the four dead firefighters speaking of their loved ones....just heartbreaking.... One of the sisters could only get out "he wasn't just my brother...he was my best friend"....then she broke into tears and crying and could say no more! I hope the arsonists are feeling guilt and remorse for their deadly actions....

That is sad. And also a very difficult thing to do. I just went thru that to a degree with my mother.

It is so difficult to think it is all for the best and removes suffering.

But that is the only way to make something positive out of a horrible situation.

I would appreciate some prayers for myself and Luke please. We went to the doctors today for a simple case of oral thrush and the doctor was very worried. He says that thrush in children over a year old is extremely unusual and could be an indication of a disorder in his immune system. I've been asked to wean him immediately starting today so we wont pass the thrush back and forth while nursing...this is going to be traumatic for both of us because I wanted to wean him gradually. He still nurses 4 or 5 times a day. I dont dare ignore the doctors warning...this is the guy who saved Luke's life when he was 4months old.

Its probably nothing but the whole thing is upsetting and i'm worried that i'll give in tonight at bedtime and allow him to nurse. So please say a prayer for us if you would...for me to stay firm and say no and for Luke's immune system to be ok.

Thanks.

Hi Val! Sorry to hear that about Luke! A question...when he was sick recently...was he on antibiotics? Have you had any symtoms of yeast yourself in the breast area? Are you both being treated with medication?

Remember to wash all Luke's toys with soap and hot water....same for anything that comes in contact with your breasts....bras, etc. especially if you plan to continue to breastfeed. It's hard to wean let alone in one day!

I will definitely say a prayer for little Luke!! Don't think the worst Val...Drs sometimes are cautious and start off telling you the worst case scenario!
