#2371 | Lan, Sometimes going through these experiences helps us learn the system and through that we gain knowledge for the next experience. When you go to the specialist, if he wants to run more tests, ask him if he will get you the results quicker and keep in touch with you better than the GP. My prayers are still with you both. I know it is a tough time. I pray you can put all of this in our Heavenly Father's hands. This is not easy so praying harder for both of you.

#2373 | I'd like to share this.. Don't know who wrote it..
From our first breath until our last, we have few truly essential needs. Without oxygen, we would perish in minutes. We must have food and water. Our bodies, when exhausted, require rest. And in harsh weather, we must seek shelter. So, while we are needy creatures, our basic needs are few.
When it comes to our wants, however, there seems to be no limit. Indeed, the entire advertising industry is devoted to expanding our “needs.”
But what about those basic needs we overlook? What about our need for the Bread of Life and the living water of God’s truth? What about our need for spiritual fellowship that gives strength, hope, peace, and comfort? The vague dissatisfaction so many people experience is really spiritual malnutrition and thirst.
Jesus told a Samaritan woman about water that would become “a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14). He had what she truly needed—what Peter later called “the words of eternal life” (6:68).
Have we been ignoring the words of Jesus: “Man shall not live by bread alone”? (Luke 4:4). Have we been failing to nourish our souls while pursuing our wants? “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matt. 6:33). —Vernon C Grounds
Have a blessed day everyone.

#2375 | That was great Bea. It amazes me that God gave us everlasting life even before we loved Him...He has always loved us and wanted us to be His. #2376 | I'm still keeping you all in my prayers and I appreciate you all putting up with my ranting for all this time. Still trying to figure out all this paperwork with my 5th pair of glasses. They still can't figure out whats wrong with my eyes.
It now appears my monitor got broke during the move so I'm gonna have to try and fix that now also. I finally got a desk fixed up then it broke when I tried to move it by myself.
So back to looking for scrap wood to fix it again unless I can find a used one VERY cheap. For some reason I'm partial to this partical board one that I have fixed up over the years.
I don't plan on staying in this apartment so I really don't want to buy something new and have it damaged when I move again .. which I hope will be soon.
I can't believe how much you all have ment to me during all this stuff. I thank the Lord for my friends here daily.
Stay safe and God Bless
David
P.S. Does anyone have experiance with one of these Pincher Collars? Thor pulled me down on the ground again today on the icey road. I don't want to hurt him but I need to stop this ASAP. http://www.hotdogcollars.com/photos/PET-107-2T.jpg

A Chocker cuts off his air supply .. been trying that but you hace to have it around the upper throat to work and sometimes thats hard to do and it makes him gag.
He will eat anything that is not made of metal. I've seen a few dogs with them and people say they work so I'm thinkin' .. for training .. this might have to be my next step for now. They are also cheaper than other devices out there. About 10 to 20 bucks ... | | Distinguished Member with 4,776 posts. | | Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Delaware Experience: beginner always learning |

#2379 | As long as it isn't cruel, I don't see why you couldn't use it. It doesn't cut, it just gets his attention right? You have health problems and you can't afford to have him pulling you down like this...you could really get hurt.
About your eyes....do you go to an opthamologist or an optometrist for your eye care? You may need to see an opthamologist...they have had more training and may be able to pinpoint your problem more accurately.
Praying for your eyes, dog problem, search for a new place to live, as well as fixing of the desk. God Bless.

#2380 | Thanks Grandma,
All these things really are not all that important. The best part of my whole day was spending time at church and eating at their community meal. Then helping clean up.
Like the saying goes and Bea pointed out.
Seek first the kingdom of God and all the rest will be fine.
In like to go to this church and just randomly pick out a bible verse. I just open up the book and read what comes up. Tonight it was in Mark .. Talking about Jesus walking on the water then going to a church to eat and being scolded by the pharises about not following the tradition of clensing oneself before eating. I think it was Mark 7 or around there. It''s funny how when I get to go to a church and do this the random places and verses that come up. I'm still trying to figure out the one about getting the desires of your heart and how that might appy to where my new life as a single man may lead.
HAve a GREAT night

#2381 | Those Chockers work and do not hurt the dog. There are 4 way to use them too. You got the two rings you can hook them to or just the one so it pulls and pinches. Then you can turn the the whole thing around so the pinches are on the outside.
Then if that does not work get a Training Collar. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...03205-cat20730
They work and when my dad would go out hunting it really helped to keep the dog in control. You have to learn to use them and train the dog because this thing will shock them but you have control over a very little shock that does not hurt at all to ones that will.
Hope they find out what is going on with your eyes and back David.

I borrowed one of those and tried it on my sheltie years ago and it was VERY inafective. Just made matters worse and hurt the dog. I'll never use one of those again. The poor dog wouldn't leave my side and started peeing in the house cause he was afraid to go outside.
I was trying to break him from chaseing snowmobiles and dissapearing for days. I'd have to go get him miles away after a week or so when someone found him at their front door.
This just pinches the neck when they pull.
And thanks Poochee .. I'm doing my best. Church helps me out the most by giving me a place to go and talk with other people. Gets me outa the house and I get a free homemade meal once in a while. | | Distinguished Member with 66,600 posts. | | Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: California Experience: Intermediate |
