another lesson that life has thought me.

never carry a kitty in your arms on his/her back. That is a very unnatural and uncomfortable position for the cat.

mental note:grab kitty under her/his front legs for maximum comfort during transfer.

Dogs are my favorite pets, but I've been partial to several cats.

car passed me in no-passing zone in a school zone sunday......doing about 20 over the posted speed....as he passed me, he couldn't see the bicylclist in front of me on the road, and as a result hit him doing about 40. Knocked him out of his shoes, flew about 40' into a wood fence. Bicyclist was about 12 or so, compound fracture of femur and severe head and internal injuries. I knew there was nothing I could do, as I am not trained and the most I would do would most likely cause more harm than good. So called 911, made damn sure the kid driving didn't leave the scene (acually told him I was giong to put him in my trunk if he went anywhere near his car) and waited.

Kid didn't make it.

Life is short. Be nice to those around you, and tell people how much they mean to you daily, for you never know when that daily is the last one.

That's my lesson for, hopefully, ever. Don't like those types of lessons being re-enforced.

Life does sometimes pivot around a careless moment.
Seen it also as I think many others surely have if they live long enough.

I've seen it a bit too frequently, was in one of those incidents when I was between high school and college that put an end to a baseball scholarship; it's weird, when I saw him laying there, my first thought should've been about my family, but it was about his; he's got (had) a mom, pop, sis, dog, uncle, brother; so many lives affected by about 2 seconds of carelessness......

the other bad part is the kid who hit him was over 18, so his life is ruined as well.
