Greatest Lesson that Life has Taught You
Life has been called, 'The University of Hard Knocks.' Some of us have been around the block a few times... and should have learned some invaluable lessons... maybe you could share them with us...

Life taught me that the "small hard knocks" of my youth prepared me for the larger ones that occured when I got older.

It also reminded me that patience is truly a virtue.

...thank you katonca for the kind words...

...one of the greatest lesson that life has taught me is the importance of appreciating what it (life) has given me... ...this attitude of gratitude has served me well when times were a little rough... and when I focus on that good stuff, the not so good stuff tends to loose it's importance.

Humans are fragile creatures. Some people do and say things that may seem silly to others, just to fit in and be one of the crowd. We should be careful how we treat them, all it takes is one word to destroy them and make them feel worthless,( EVEN on forums where they can't even see you ) . The saying 'ignorance is bliss' can sometimes be true but we have to learn the difference between ignorance and ignoring, we all live in the same world and should care for each other and there are enough hard knocks in life without us purposely adding to them.

Oh and mosquito bites are painful

...good post... reminds me of Andrew Carnegie's words,

"When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice, and motivated by pride and vanity."

...good stuff...

I got three:

There is always more then one right way to solve a problem. No mater what people think, there is always another way.

Blood is no thicker then water. If I ever had to chose family or friends I would chose friends hands down anytime.

Being positive in a bad situation is a waste of energy. Instead focus on what went wrong and how it can be fixed and put your brain to good use

Surely being negative in a bad situation is equally exhausting. Being positive in a bad situation is what get some people through it, surely that makes it worth it?

I think my biggest lesson was to never eat yellow sno ...

Wait a minute.

Ummm ...

Katonca, I'm with you on the "small hard knocks" thing. I can still rememebr several stupid choices I made when I was younger that immunized me from similar mistakes later on.

Greaat thread, Shamou.
