valis... Thank you for your kind words... ...you are on your way my friend... and there is no joy such as the one felt when you see a friend succeed and finds peace and happiness...

I'm not going to stay involved in this thread but I will leave you with this, Shamou: To suggest that I hide behind a cloak of love while secretly hating people and to imply that I take delight in the idea that people go to hell....well that amounts to libel, imo. It appears that your opinion of me is colored by your anti-religious perceptions. I dont need to hear you speak volumes to feel your distaste. You convey it very well with just a few words.

I will not try to engage you again since you do not feel that you owe me any kind of answers as to how you feel about certain things. But if you dont want to talk to me then fine...dont talk to me and dont reply to my posts either. I was content to let things be until you brought up the schizophrenia thing. If you dont want to get involved then just leave my posts alone and we will be fine!

However when it is used to express condemnation of those with different faith or beliefs, rejection of life styles that are different but perfectly legitimate, when I am told that if I don't walk a specific line, I will go to hell... and that type of mindset, I do vehemently oppose and object.
To set the record straight here....I have never told Shamou that he was going to hell if he doesnt walk a specific line so that part of his statement is a bit misleading. Yes, I do believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only way to Heaven and that those who do not believe on Him are condemned. But I am only relating what is written in the Bible and i've never said it directly to Shamou even though he implies that I did. If I am mistaken on that, I will gladly retract my denial of that much.

Shamou...the next time you want to "hint" at why you cannot tolerate me, please do it in a pm and not publicly where you know I will see it and be disturbed by it. I view it as being too sly (even if it was unintentional) and I know you dont want to come across that way to anyone else.

Lastly, thank you Bandit and Jeb for showing concern but i'm not losing any sleep over Shamou's dislike for me. He has the right to pick and choose his friends and to his credit, I think his conscience will not allow him to pretend to feel something that his heart doesnt feel so please dont press him to explain himself any further. He is trying to be as honest as he can be without causing a big stink and I totally respect that.

People are different thing in the eyes of different people. LOL...apparently Shamou and I just dont do anything for each other. Thats ok though...he is a great friend to you fellas and you should all enjoy him for what he is to you!

I'm gonna skedaddle my hiney right back out of this thread. You guys are way too nice for someone as blunt as me and I dont want to wreck this thread with any more negativity so i'm outta here. I will catch yous the next time! *hugs*

With certainty comes clarity… action and results…

We are all guided by personal beliefs; ranging from opinions, to convictions to absolute certainties. And as we mature, some of those are left by the wayside while others will grow in strength from opinions to absolute certainty. Though, we must remain flexible, it imperative that, through introspection, we strive to recognize what we will truly believe in and what we accept as absolute truths or core beliefs… because it is only then that we can see the path in life that we will chose with a degree of clarity.

Now, the very best way to do some introspection is to carefully prepare and give a twenty minutes conference on the subject that we are concerned with. We may think that our opinion is complete and well defined on that particular subject… but, it is only when we have to expose it in a formal way that we find out that many parts of the puzzle may be missing.

Now, that ‘conference’ may addressed to a single person or to a video camera but is has to be done as though it was done in front of a large crowd or on public TV. It does take some efforts but the results are astounding. It allows you to discover the difference between what you think you know on the subject and what you really do know… as well as how clear those thoughts are organized in your mind.

For those who may be interested, I will not respond to valley's latest post... what is fair, is fair. She has a right to her opinion just as I have a right to mine.

However, I strongly object to the following:

dont reply to my posts either.

Every action has an equal and oposite recation and this applies right down to fundamental particles.

Basicly life is a chain recaction nothing is random and thus if you new the exact trajectory charge, temp, mass ect of every particle in the universe you could predict how they would interact with every other particle and predict the future.

of course you would need a computer larger then the universe itself and that simply wouldn't work.

Bottom line is nothing is random. ----- Think of a number any number. Why did you chose that number? It wasnt random there was a reason. Did you see it reacently? is it your favourite number. Did you pick a number that was large so nobody else would guess it? did you decide not to chose 10 or 1 or 5 as they are to simple and dont seem random to you based on past experiances.

There was a reason. You chose that number based on memories old and new and enviromental stimulous.

Therefore if you knew all of those factors you could predict (in theory. In practice it would be too hard) what number you chose.

So in closing if nothing is random and therefore you can predict the future (In theory) then everything is predetermind and we cannot effect it so it is FATE!

of course if you knew the future you might then act differently based on you interaction with the knowledge of the future thus changing the future and creating a paradox.

If nothing is random, how do you explain lightning strikes? Those seem pretty random as to where they strike. Flip a coin 100 times; the outcome is random, NOT predetermined.

The lightning follows the path of least resistance. wheather this is due to air preasure, humidity, rain, or something tall and conductive.

If we knew the exact position and trajectory of all the particles involved including charge ect say 5 min before. Assuming we had a powerfull enough computer we could predict the path of least resistance and predict where it will strike.

When im talking about particles i mean at the sub-atomic level, leptons quarks ect.

if you are talking quarks, then you are talking sub-atomic, and there rules tend to take on a different meaning entirely. Using sub-atomic logic, as I am 99.9% empy space, as are you, we would never be able to shake hands, yet we do.

But that has nothing to do with random-ness.

Surly though there is no such thing as randomness.

If a particle hits another partical at a certain velocity and angle we can predict where those particles will be a short time after collision. If we then complicate it and expand this a few trillion times we then get a model of the earth and thus on the same principle could assuming we had a big enough computre, predict the conditons of the atomosphere and thus locate the path of least resistance and hence where the lightning will strike.

Everything is a chain reaction.

ever read 'Cryptonomicon' by Neal Stephenson? Wonderful discourse on randomness in crytpography, and how they utilize truly random events, such as radioactive decay or atmospheric noise to generate the random numbers.

Do what I do - get a buzz-cut. All your problems will instantly be solved.

That's two votes so far ... who's with me?

I'm gonna start a new thread with a poll to find out what TSGers think about hannab getting a haircut less than 1/4th of an inch long.

Nyet Stralay I'm just kidding. Seriously though, I'm guessing that anyone who's moods depend solely on their haircut is bound to be a consistently happy person.
