I'm always surprised at the history of the music and how influenced the bands I've looked at have been by those that came before.

If you look at most stories....they have already been written....just the plot might be tweaked a bit.....names changed......frankly there aren't any new stories to be told.

read Robert Sheckley, an auther from the 40's and 50's, and you will see and AWFUL lot of Stephen King in him.....rather odd, that....

You're reading too much into King. He got most of his stuff from the Pulps, according to his biography.

If they don't got a Grand Ole Opry like they do in Tennessee,
Just send me to Hell or New York City it'd be 'bout the same to me.

Yee F'N Haw. The day My music died was the day Bonham died. Plant described Bonham as one beat off.

Belushi and Bonham died the same year. Not a biggie for you kiddies, one hell of a blow for us real rockers, First we had lost Hendrix and Joplin. Now we gotta deal with the death of John Bonham. Next thing you know, we gotta deal with Waters losing his mind.

The Wall was the last great rock masterpiece. Roger Waters lost his mind recording it. Damn!! The best recorded since was the Final Cut by Pink Floyd.

Floyd just totally rules.

Yep, Skivvy's gonna hate me. Not a big fan of Hendrix either.

I'll give you Bonham, Joplin and Waters.

floyd rules, but waters is still king. His solo stuff blows Gilmour's away.

And the ONLY recorded 'classic' floyd album after the wall was the final cut, wasn't it?

Dang y'all. I definitely detected a topic there for a while..... A good one, though.

And you nerdfaces forgot one of the greatest set of pipes ever lost to a plane crash: Patsy Cline.

Richie Valens called heads.... Imma remember that one.... thanks, Valis!

certainly, di....anytime....love music, love trivia, so they both go hand in hand.

Jim Croce in a car crash, and Randy Rhodes (who I personally think is in the top 3 guitarists all time) also come to mind.

As I said, 'they've got a heckuva band'.
