Well, metaphysically speaking, that's doing "something"--even if just lying motionless in bed. But practically speaking--that could be considered "doing nothing."
My nomination for a whole bunch of posts about "nothing" is Civilized Debate (primarily by the bed wetters). Take the "Bush is the Dictator" thread--its a thread about nothing really. I mean if Bush really wanted to be a dictator, say like Hitler, he would have marched into the countries adjacent to his and taken them over first like Hitler did. For example, if we wanted Canada, they wouldn't put up much of a fight--they'd ask if they can keep their beer and their hockey teams and I am sure Bush would let them--they'd say--than take the country--its yours (not much of a fight--but still more than France put up against Germany!).
Let's face it--Bush only has two years left to take over the world--not much time to do a pretty big task. So that thread is the proverbial "much ado about nothing". That thread is for practical purposes, about nothing.
Do you see what I mean?
So that thread is the proverbial "much | then why not say 'these are a bunch of posts about nothing; post something substantiative for a change'. |
