You can make whatever threads you like, but please consider the common courtesies involved. The Fire Pit isn't either of your ideas originally, so don't act as if you are lord of it or controlling or anything of the like.

Continuing the thread is to continue on the spirit of friendship and comraderie that the Pit always represented.

Swing and a miss. It's just a continuation of the new thread; difference being TechBot doesn't do that automatically in Announcements. It's still the same FirePit.
