How can they suck you down if you weren't touching them already?
Your a man, when you encounter a nasty, filthy bathroom you still have the privilege of standing up.... We have to hover over such messes and the auto flushes can suck you down onto the seat... Plus the auto toilets scare the bejeezes out of small children..

Always carry "post its" with you and stick one over the sensor to prevent such suction
force

Chari

How can they suck you down if you weren't touching them already?

I'm returning to job interviews for my peeve today

Why do so many people not realize the benefit of bathing? Are they really oblivious to the fact that an offensive body odour results in the interviewer only thinking about how quickly they can end the interview?

meh .... I understand the cultural bit (well sort of ... but still don't like it). In these cases though that wasn't the reason, I have no doubt that each of these people had a very similar "cultural" identity to me.

I'm lucky to have my own office, but I've always feared working with someone who wears strong perfume that's just as bad as body odor

Your job sounds like it's been fun recently time for a vacay, I say

ok, this isn't really a peeve but I want to put it somewhere, can't figure out where but don't think it an issue deserving its own thread.

I read that today and felt like it was directed at me and I just have to answer it.

Yes I would feel perfectly comfortable answering ""You didn't provide me with enough evidence"

disclaimer: I am in no way whatsoever insulted by Lans siggy, I have no problems with his or anyones openly displaying their beliefs. In fact I admire the strength of many of the members convictions in here. I just felt this weird need to answer the question and to have my answer heard (ok .. read).

Lan, don't change it. You made me think, and thats never a bad thing.

actually this is a new job for me, until recently my office has been the back of trucks. And yes I have dealt with some ungodly odours on many occasions. I'm just starting into the world of management and discovering things I would never have considered issues before, gaining a whole new respect for people in "authority" positions and some of the issues they get presented with regularly.

Peeve: Buying local...everyone insists that you should buy local...so you, but you spend more to buy local than you would driving the extra 30 miles to a slightly larger town to buy the exact same thing!! If businesses REALLY wanted you to buy local, they'd be sure to stay priced with the competition!!
