Better question is: how do they avoid being sued for false advertising? If they advertise how great something works, and it doesn't, I fail to see how that wouldn't qualify as false advertising. Though, I'll grant that not every single item off the production line is going to work perfectly--there's always going to be a lemon or two, but that's different than something that consistently fails to perform, OR if the quality control is so low that very few make it off the line that actually do perform as advertised.

BTW, zee Schpelling Nazi fixed your spelling....

I hate the holidays. Everyone clumps all the family gatherings onto the same day (or over a couple consecutive days) and then have the nerve to get all indignant when it isn't humanly possible to make it to every single gathering. Is my family the only one like this? It seriously makes me just want to say "screw it" and stay home.

And let's not forget that guilt trip about how "well, you can't miss this one" for various reasons, but generally because so-&-so came all the way from God-knows-where, or so-&-so probably won't live to see next year's festivities. Why? Why pull that crap on someone? How is that supposed to make you feel festive?

That is what I do... stay at home on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. If I can't go to my sisters house or moms house for a day and feel as comfortable there as I do in my own home, why do it?

Because I like torture? Actually, I have no idea why I put up with it. Hubby says we shouldn't, but his family is just as guilty as mine, and I don't see him telling them no.

For Pete's sake! Everyone is trying to guilt trip me! Even my beloved TechGuy!

I wouldn't put myself in a position that could make me feel uncomfortable, it just isn't worth it

You what is more interesting for me with family, kinda a peeve but when i see family who havent seen me since i was baptized or my 3rd bday or somthing and i get the old "how big your gettting...." and i just roll my eyes. Im 19, i dont think my size is changing much anymore. Just doesnt make make sense. My mom's whole side of the family is like getting back together now, i dont understand it, its because all the dust is settling from these stupid arguments they all had with each other when they were younger. Its stupid really.

why is it that a 12LB turkey takes 5 hours to cook yet last year a 23lb birdzilla only took 3 hours to cook. both from butterball. also pumpkin pies that take longer to cook. even though the knife came out clean the pie was not really done when i cut into it.

Pumpkin pie needs to cool completely before you cut into it, otherwise it will not be fully set. As for the bird, I can't help you there, unless you were using two different ovens and one wasn't as accurate as the other. Hope you had a good dinner anyway.
