I'm equally as picky, equally as nice.... staff is similar.... Makes me wonder what the critical factor is. Maybe I should think about other things for a while.....

And it doesn't matter what I'm ordering... I ask for NO LETTUCE... every time. Why people have to smother everything in those soggy shards of lettuce is completely beyond me. Shredded lettuce is probably in my top five pet peeves. So much hate. |

Don't you think it's silly that we have to preface everything with a disclaimer?
Ahem.
When I patronized both places (before the Boycott of '05 began), I went during the day, so any high school kids are taken out of the equation. They are mostly adult Hispanics, speak English just fine, all that jazz. The Taco Cabana (the one who messes up EVERY TIME like clockwork) has had a white female manager, white male manager (who used to hit on me constantly... which is fine.... if you don't manage a Taco Cabana.... ooooh I'm mean!), and a hispanic female manager. The Taco Bell (messed up my order twice.... in about three years.... once they gave me someone else's order and once they left the lettuce on one taco) has had a white male manager. He is the only one who is gone. The black female manager and hispanic female manager have been there since I discovered my little fast food oasis of perfection and they are still there. So see? It's pretty similar. Must be the work environment or something because the differences in service is STAGGERING! I always waited at the Cabana. If I wait more than three minutes (from getting into line to driving out of the parking lot) at the Bell, I know a customer ahead of me is harassing them. They are amazing. Burritos are rolled tight so nothing ever falls out of them. It's always hot and melty and if half of the sit-down restaurants I go to put that much effort into their service, they would get 30% tips from me.
I *heart* my Bell. As if you didn't already know. Seriously, come visit me and I will take you to the Best Taco Bell in the World. It's right down the street. I can almost see it from here.

But then I may be spoiled, I have a little family owned (Mexican immigrants) Mexican Restaurant just down the street from me, the quality of their food and service is unbeatable and served with the most pleasant shock you could ever hope for ....... very reasonable prices

#60 | From what I hear ( I don't get to the U.S. very often but my son who loves to eat does) the fast food especially Pizza is a whole new realm of delight compared to Canada... So does your food at Taco Bell actually resemble the pictures they display? If so you're to be envied!
