#61 | Taco Bell is the lowest of the low in Windsor. The cockroaches don't even eat the food there.
And Janet, I think that Peterborough story says a thing or two about that city, doncha think? | | Distinguished Member with 4,697 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Experience: just enough to know I know not enough |

LOL
All this talk of food (however nasty) has reminded me to go and have some dinner...
Later...

Now, I'm just talking fast food here. I'm in Texas and there is (thankfully) no shortage of family-owned Mexican restaurants. Freshly-made salsa anyone? Yes, thanks. I'll have a bucket. I have actually purchased a bucket of salsa before. Totally worth it. Quote: |

LOL | My apartment complex is right behind a "Kentucky Yucky" and sometimes when the wind is just right.... mmmmm.... smells like fried chicken! I never eat there, though. It's right next door to a Boston Market and I'd rather eat there anyway.
By the way, I live in Fast Food Mecca. If they make 'em in Texas, I've probably got one within half a mile of me. Two McDonalds. Of course.

Ahem.
When I patronized both places (before the Boycott of '05 began), I went during the day, so any high school kids are taken out of the equation. They are mostly adult Hispanics, speak English just fine, all that jazz. The Taco Cabana (the one who messes up EVERY TIME like clockwork) has had a white female manager, white male manager (who used to hit on me constantly... which is fine.... if you don't manage a Taco Cabana.... ooooh I'm mean!), and a hispanic female manager. The Taco Bell (messed up my order twice.... in about three years.... once they gave me someone else's order and once they left the lettuce on one taco) has had a white male manager. He is the only one who is gone. The black female manager and hispanic female manager have been there since I discovered my little fast food oasis of perfection and they are still there. So see? It's pretty similar. Must be the work environment or something because the differences in service is STAGGERING! I always waited at the Cabana. If I wait more than three minutes (from getting into line to driving out of the parking lot) at the Bell, I know a customer ahead of me is harassing them. They are amazing. Burritos are rolled tight so nothing ever falls out of them. It's always hot and melty and if half of the sit-down restaurants I go to put that much effort into their service, they would get 30% tips from me.
I *heart* my Bell. As if you didn't already know. Seriously, come visit me and I will take you to the Best Taco Bell in the World. It's right down the street. I can almost see it from here. | Used to have a Taco Bell across the street from the hotel I managed. I so love Taco Bell Nachos Bell Grande that I would wait an hour in line for them We don't have one in Acapulco Imagine that | | Former Administrator with 104,744 posts. | | Join Date: Jan 2001 Experience: Advanced |

They have salads and potatoes and their macaroni n cheese is to die for! Then again, I live in fast food Mecca.... it's probably all extra super good here all the way around.

#75 | New Pet Peeve ( funny name, wonder why they call it that? )
Anyway, I got this new used car in puuuurfect condition. My husband tells me to take it in to get Crown Rust undercoating... I go there and the lady manager was so abliging she said if I wanted to wait she'd fit me in... I was thrilled as I expected to have to make an appointment and come back another time...While I was waiting we chatted like old friends...So very nice!
So after it's done I go home and after getting out of my perfect little car I see a Crown Rust sticker on my back window! Now I simply didn't have the heart to complain to this nice lady and give her a hard time...However it ticks me off severely!...Why would they do that? Shouldn't they ask? You couldn't get those asinine things off with a sledge hammer!
