Well. UPS and FedEx deliver to all kinds of places without USPS service. What do they use? Because they can certainly find us.

And why does Cingular need a physical address for a pay-as-you-go phone anyway? What are the chances that they will need to use that information?

I am also truly curious.

I went out to clean up a little "present" some neighborhood dog (and the person walking him) had left and found that there were 12 such deposits in my yard Having a corner lot, I usually have to deal with one or two a month, but this was ridiculous It really upset me as I take things like that personally

We have a pooper scooper law, but of course that doesn't matter unless you catch them in the act. Why are people so inconsiderate

Does anyone have suggestions on anything I can put down that repels dogs? I found some stuff on line, but would like to know if anyone has ever successfully used them.

My bus comes every morning at somewhere around 6:47. I was running a little bit behind and was in a rush getting ready to run out the door this morning. I could hear the bus making its way up the road and I knew I didn't have much time. I picked up my backpack and all of a sudden... it broke. The zipper completely undid itself, leaving the two zipper pulls where they were. My old Lands' End backpack had done very well for me, serving me for five years with hardly a scratch. But it gave up the ghost, and I had literally fifteen seconds to find something to put my schoolbooks in. I remembered a giant tote bag I had used not too long ago and I grabbed that and stuffed my backpack in it. I made the bus fine. But I had to carry my books around today in an old, crummy, cat-hair crusted blue tote bag that had "Renaissance Faire" written on it. Ew.

And now I don't have a backpack anymore.

Crying out to the moon, "If only, if only."
"If only, if only." The moon speaks no reply
Reflecting the sun and all that's gone by.
Be strong, my weary wolf, turn around boldly.
Fly high, my baby bird, my angel, my only.

I can't stand people who pass judgment based on clothes. Just 'cos I wear a coat that happens to be black and happens to come past my knees doesn't make me a crazy person. No, the pills I take fix that.
On the subject of clothes, how much further can teenagers go? Yeesh! We're about six strands of thread away from living in a nudist colony!
I suppose that's it for now.

There are people at my school who wear those black coats... I don't see anything wrong with them. I wish I could pull off a kick-awesome coat like that... but neh.

Me=not a little guy. My dear trench coat, faithful for three years now, is almost as important as my glasses, which are inseparable from me.

So I was looking at the webpage of one of those few, and I was reading about its history. They censored the word God with a dash... G-d. That bugs me to no end, honestly... I don't take the word God to be a bad word, and I really don't think it should be. I mean... I don't hate people who use that, but it seems a little weird to have that "censored" on the webpage for a synagogue... a religious webpage. The logic fails me completely. But what do I know? I'm sure I'll get flack for this but I don't really care. God is not a bad word.

It kind of turned me off to that particular place, and that makes me kind of mad because it's not like I have a great big selection to choose from.

Its not that it's a bad word, but obervant Jews don't write of the name of God out of respect, part of not taking the Lord's name in vain - The First Commandment - and acknowledging that God is greater than any single written word. I think some don't even say his name out loud.

No problem, it's an interesting concept, but hard for me to understand since one of the most beautiful and comforting words I can say is "Jesus"

I too hate January, especially today, because of what Blackmirror said, the cold. We haven't had much cold weather yet, I am really beginning to hate winter. I can't go outside without putting on, long johns, big boots with good insoles, a vest, a coat, a hat, and a pair of gloves. The temperature got to -33 C with the wind chill.
