I smacked my toe on my way to stop my kitchen sink from flooding my apartment.

That kind of sucked.

Heya johnnyburst..... do you ever vacuum your rug into a plaid pattern? That would be awesome.

Professional journalism seems to have gone the way of the dodo. At least on Fox. After 24, I watched the first few minutes of Fox News on our local affiliate. They covered a story about a hotel in Charlotte that was shut down by a judge for

drugs, thugs and hookers
They told about the families that live there that will now have to find

new digs
Then they cut to an interview with a woman who told of the "schemes" that the undesirables used to get into the hotel. As they closed the story, the desk reporter said that the trial for the owners would be soon

and if the city wins, they likely tear down the joint
Consider the source, I know, but is a modicum of professionalism too much to ask for? Apparently so.

I actually have the opposite problem. I have a ceiling fan/fixture in my living room where one of three bulbs is burned out. I refuse to change it until the other two go because it's about 12 feet from the floor and if I drag the ladder out to change that one bulb another one will burn out tomorrow. That just how karma treats me. No respect, I tell ya.

Edit: Count your blessings. If one bulb goes then you have a new one and an old one in the same fixture and you don't get the same lighting on opposite sides.

Di, that would take WAY too much time and I think that footprints would get in the way. I'll think about it, and if I do, I'll take a picture for you.

I hate it when people breath really loud. I also hate it when people yell into a phone. that wont make the person on the other end hear you any better. it could only distort the sound if anything.

people that can not eat reasonably quietly but have to slurp and crunch loud enough to wake up the neighbors.

Mainly in the morning when there is only one or two others in the room.

It is like scratching chalk on a chalkboard to me.

But then i hate mornings.

That would be lovely! Thank you!

I'd say lack of self-awareness covers most of these.... but that wouldn't be a very fun thread.

Loud breathers and loud eaters. Any bodily function, really. Maybe we could keep those noises to a minimum?

Also: That commercial for some car sale for President's Day? The one that sets "Hail to the Chief" to a crappy hip-hop beat and plays the tune on a synthesizer right out of 1983? Yeah. It's Tuesday. Can we take that commercial out back with a shotgun yet? The only good thing to come of that commercial is Gabi saying, "They're messing up my song."

Di I agree the President's Day ad is awful but so are almost all commercials on TV. It's got to a point that I put the TV on mute as soon as commercials start and very seldom do I unmute the TV until the show, movie or news is back on. I may pay attention to a new one just in hopes there is a little imaginaion and common sense involved in the commercial.
