Pet Peeve # 254321
I have never in my entire life had any sense of direction. It's frustrating and at times embarrassing

I have given up being worried about getting lost. I print out a map and study it some before we leave. If we still get lost I ask for help, that is if my husband will stop so I can ask for help

Thank you for the kind words BUT I don't even have to leave the house to get lost! When I'm in my basement I don't know where the front or back of the house is. ( It's an old house with only a couple of windows that are covered). I come out of a store in the mall and always turn the wrong direction. A good example of just how bad I am...
I was in the new Home Sense Store. An associate walked up and me and asked if she could help me. I thought for a moment and asked where the bath mats were. Up to this point I was walking up then down the same isle systematically so I wouldn't miss anything. She took me to the bath mats and after I made my selection I asked her to take me back to where she'd picked me up! It was embarrassing but I really didn't want to miss a thing! We both had a good laugh but it does bother me quite a bit.

You know, I read somewhere that some people have an internal compass and some people just don't. It's a little freaky. I have a great internal compass, so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. I also make maps for a living, so.... that comes in handy.

If it helps, do what my daughter's classroom does.... put up signs! Whether it's front/back or North/South/East/West! I feel better when I'm oriented.

Thanks Di.
Maybe I'll tie a sign around my neck that says "POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION" Who knows where I'd end up! Ha Ha

LOL - when I first read this, I put a totally existential spin on it - I thought you felt lost and needed some direction in your life - like what does it all mean ....I'm glad to see that you only need to know where to turn left and when to stay straight

Pet Peeve of the moment: Husbands that whine about EVERYTHING!!! I swear, if it's not me folding his underwear wrong or the shower spraying in the wrong direction, it's that I forgot to take the trash out...which reminds me, I need to do that...
