Just a note. I have watched the Speed channel F1 broadcasts and just to make a point that ITV provides the video feed on behalf of Formula 1. Speed supplies their own commentary but here in Canada we get the ITV commentary with James Allen and Martin Brundle. Also, the Speed broadcasts are slightly time delayed. Today Speed was showing the driver's interviews after the fact. Yesterday qualifying on Speed concluded ~20 minutes late. I could have posted the quali results when America was seeing the end of Q2.
not only that, you don't have dobbs hiccoughing his way through a race.....

I have never , EVER been a fan of Ferrari, and stopped being a fan of McLaren last year, when the cars kept breaking down on Kimi, but I would much rather have seen McLaren win the WCC.even though they didnt, irregardless of what sanctions F1A put against them. I feel bad for Hamilton, but I am extreemly happy for Kimi, he was way past due to win the DC. That was the best moment of this season for me!!!

The outcome of the 2007 drivers’ world championship has been plunged into renewed doubt after McLaren declared its intention to appeal the decision of the Interlagos stewards not to penalise Williams and BMW Sauber for alleged fuel irregularities.

After Sunday’s Brazilian Grand Prix the stewards analysed fuel samples taken from the Williams and BMW cars during their pit stops, which appeared to show temperatures outside the permitted range.

Here's another excellent, level-headed critique of Hamilton'schampionship loss:

I for one believe that Hamilton could've recovered from his initial mistake and the transmission problem, or at least had a damn good go at doing so.

The first para refers to two barriers, the transmission malfunction and "his" race strategy.

Further down gets you "Had the team decided to keep him on the originally planned two-stop strategy ..."

IMO, it was the 3-stop gamble that killed it. With that added to the tyres issues in Shanghai, McLaren finally ran out of feet to shoot themselves in.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes; I was flabbergasted when Lewis peeled off for a thrid stop. My initial reaction was that he had a tyre problem but the announcers said he wasn't fuelled to the end I was stunned. That was the thrid strike and he was out!

Oops! Just found another tidbit:

FIA freezes engine development for 10 years

Question: what if a certain engine manufacturer faces some design flaw that makes thier engines go Bang! after 10 laps of every race? the manufacturer is not allowed to "engineer" out the flaw?

I was flabbergasted the moment he exited the second stop ... when they flashed up the info "fuel added for an additional 15 laps" (only). Crazy. One might even say "inconceivable".

Yeah, I actually missed that part or I would have had the same reaction as you.

all I know is when I saw the calculation for amount of fuel that went in, I reckoned that the tv people had to be off. Because there was no way in hades that he was going to run a 3 stop race. Not if wanted to finish in the top 5 that is.....

well, when he zipping into the pits, I just looked at my wife and said 'if kimi can keep one engine alive for a few more laps, he just won the DC'.

Still wondering about the logic behind that one.

And so help me God, if this gets awarded to Mclaren in court.......

At first glance, that appears to be just plain stupid. We are talking F1, which is supposed to be the pinnacle of racing technology, right? Not to mention the trickle down that leads to better passenger cars.

Amazing.

Ferrari re-signs Massa until 2010

© The Cahier Archive

Ferrari has announced that it has re-signed Felipe Massa until the end of 2010. This is an odd announcement but taken at face value would seem to indicate that there is thus no room for Fernando Alonso at Ferrari. The announcement ends speculation that the Brazilian - who is managed to Jean Todt's son Nicolas - could move to Toyota next season.

This does not correspond with recent rumours regarding Alonso and with a great deal of internal politicking going on at Maranello, there is probably a great deal more to the announcement than meets the eye. Whatever the case, if a deal has been done, it will mean that Massa will have to be paid off if he is to be moved out of the team to make way for Alonso.

Hill and Mosley talk of Ferrari bias. 22/10/2007 ... Max Mosley admitted that in his opinion Ferrari is more important than other F1 teams. ...
