Amazing.
Other technologies are to be implemented to recover lost energies in braking and from other sources to provide out-of-corner response and acceleration which potentially WILL have an effect for the road cars. You have to read the rest of the statement and not just the first line of the story.

Hamilton 'may be negative for F1'

Motorsport boss Max Mosley has said Lewis Hamilton could have a negative effect on Formula One if he is as successful next year as he was in 2007.
"If he does the same thing next season as he's done this season, it will certainly have a big effect," he said.

"It will start to be negative because we'll get the Schumacher effect where people start writing to me saying can't you do something to slow him down."

Didn't Kimi win the championship?

Max Mosley is a bag of hot air. When Alonso was stomping on Ferrari and everyone in 2005 and 2006 he was saying some of the same BS. By comparing Hamilton to Schumi right now is ridiculous. Let Lewis win 7 championships and then maybe compare the two.

keep hamilton at mclaren and he'll vie for those 7......imagine if Senna or Schumi had gotten a primo ride from jump....senna, I think, started with toleman or something similar and it was a few years before he got to mclaren to win his first......

think it's time to start an F1 2k8 thread.

McLaren confirm split with Alonso

Quote:
LONDON (Reuters) - Spain's double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso has left McLaren in a mutual split after an acrimonious and controversial season with the Mercedes-powered team.

McLaren announced the widely expected decision in a statement on Friday.

"Following a meeting between Fernando Alonso and McLaren, it was agreed that it would be in the best interests of both parties to bring the relationship to an end," they said in a statement.

The 26-year-old driver, who joined McLaren from Renault at the end of the 2006 season, fell out with team management whom he accused of favouring rookie team mate Lewis Hamilton. He had two years to run on his contract.

The Spaniard's next destination remains uncertain, with Renault eager to secure his return while other teams could also change their plans now that one of the sport's hottest properties is openly available.
