hahahahaha.

If you use a bit torrent client, look for the ITV broadcast 2-3 days after the race, dl and watch that. The coverage is so much better.

will do......I don't mind the coverage on speed, Steve Matchett and Hobbs make for at least entertaining coverage, and Varsha has an excellent lexicon, so it's always good to hear some of the adjectives he comes up with. You never hear 'his engine blew', but rather, 'his engine let go like some post-apocalyptic thermonuclear leftover ingnitor, spewing forth it's innards in a dragon's breath of flame and camshaft pieces'.

Which then of course leaves Hobbs going 'what?' and me laughing merrily away on my couch at 7 in the morning.

Anyone outside the UK got access to coverage of the final qualifying session ? Its at 02:20 Sat 17th - for other Night Owls here. I think that would be 21:20 East Coast US / 18:20 West Coast ... far more agreeable time slots.

who in the world is this hamilton kid? Boy's got some skills.

Massa....massa....massa.......*sigh*

Alonso surprised the heck out of me also. May be a bit closer than I thought previously.

Massa will do better in Malaysia, have no doubts.

Lewis Hamilton is a kid that Ron Dennis has been sponsoring for the past 10 years, since he was 12 years old. He won the GP2 series easily last year and was granted a race seat. I did doubt Ron's idea initially, but seeing this kid race removes all doubt. Great drive by him.

You doubted a double world champion? Then again, Kimi did turn down the engine a bit to save it for Malaysia so he was not going as fast.

What about BMW? Great showing by them until one of them had a gearbox problem.

I didn't doubt Alonso; I doubted teh McLaren. They've a tendency to go 'boom'; whether that was the driver or the car remains to be seen. If a certain Ferrari suddenly starts to do that, I think I know where the blame lies.

Bit surprised massa couldn't, or didn't, pass that honda.....they were significantlyi slower than the Ferrari, but he coudln't make it work. He'll hear about that.

Speaking of Honda, how about spending 300 mill to go 1.5 seconds slower than your last years car? Oops.

If Button knows what he is talking about, he says the aerodynamics of the car are wrong. Commentators for ITV said the same thing and said by looking at the car they could see if shaking at under braking and acceleration. Rubens may just be a better driver and I did not see a post race interview with him.

I concur about the Ferrari's and McLaren driven by Kimi. Let's see if he kills the Ferrari next race. Jean Todt knows that he is a driver on the edge and has reliability concerns. 2nd race on the first engine, Malaysia should be a real test for the car.

yup.....if he blows up that engine, I am giong to be seriously worried......he's fast, but rough on the machinery, and I think that stems from his lack of time spent with the engineers....massa drives, then does his homework with the engineers; learned that frmo schumi, who learned it from senna, and on down to the original, fangio.

apparentlyi massa was out during the gearbox placement and fragility part.

I don't know about that. He may spend time with the engineers, but getting in that car and then trying to beat 21 other cars is something they may not be aware of and nor do they have his competitive edge. He will use the best way around the track to get the best possible lap times.

Remember in 2005, I think it was, his suspension exploded because he was attacking the curbs so much. His McLaren was plenty fast enough to avoid the 0.0001 seconds to would take to go around the curb properly. Towards the end of the race, Heidfeld was only about 1.8 seconds behind him. Once Alonso passed Heidfeld after the German pitted, he was able to cut down the lead to just 2.7 seconds with 2 laps to go. Once Raikkonnen braked for turn 1, his suspension could not handle it anymore and exploded taking him out and almost Jensen Button as well.

yeah, I remember that.....that was when he wiped out the signage, if I remember correctly....I'm just saying that massa spends way more time with the engineers, and it's been mentioned already regarding kimi in that aspect, even when he was with McLaren. Is there a connection? Dunno. If the F2007 starts grenading, most likely.

i'd like it to, so Alonso win's another championship. Massa can come in 2nd or 3rd so Ferrari can win the constructors.

nope....

dunno who's going to win, but after last week, I'm not as sure it will be massa.

I am certain they will be driving red, though.

Massa still has the skills. He fought up to 6th from 22nd. Certainly not a poor performance from him. Albert Park is a hard circuit to pass on. I will say that he will do better in Sepang.
