let's see if massa can actually hold off hamilton this time......sheesh....wouldn't be surprised to see raikkonen, then hamilton, then massa, into the first turn...

Massa certainly did hold him off. Alonso, even with the 5th place finish, is still in 1st place but Hamilton and Raikonnen have tied him for points.

Hamilton went into the record books as the first rookie driver to go to the podium 3 times in his first 3 races. Let's see how long he can keep this streak up.

Alonso needs to turn it up.

Great race for Heidfeld, especially in holding off Alonso in the closing laps...BMW is thrilled with their 4th and 6th finishes as well they should be. Maybe next season they will be one of the front running teams?

I would brag and state that my statement about ferrari podiuming in all the races this year is still standing, but mclaren is astounding me with their competitiveness and reliability. Kudos to them for FINALLY getting it right.

Honda, on the other hand........man, that's got to hurt to spend 300 mill and be slower than last year.

Honda has said that a new car is definitely what they need. Aero only does so much but the chassis is very poor. Kudos to Anthony Davidson though, he made it up to 7th before retiring.

Spot on about McLaren. Finally, they have the reliability to match their driver's ability.

Regarding Ferrari, well, McLaren has also podium'd every race. Let's see if you can still say that when Interlagos comes around. I have a feeling that BMW has the ability to pounce on a Ferrari mistake. Heidfeld may get on the podium with McLaren this year.

I am excited to see what happens at the 'Ring with Heidfeld in such a quick car.

yeah, that's what I was getting too about ferrari podiuming every race; so has mclaren.

This is shaping up to be a wonderful season, the most competitive in years.....

Hamilton just said he will be vying for the title. Think he has a shot?

Kimi said that Ferrari will be much quicker at Catalunya next month. Think so? Kimi also said he is not as comfortable in the car as Massa is, but yet is one of the three drivers in P1...

kimi is just the fastest in F1 one right now; has been for a few years......problem is he is also hard on his machines, and has had to learn to drive differently. We'll see. Massa's done well there, Alonso' been lights out there, so we'll see.

Did you see what happened to, I think, Coulthard's car when the fuel port got stuck open? Sort of drives home the importance of the aero package, eh?

I did see that. Almost the same thing happened to Kubica's car, just not as dramatic. Poor DC and Weber. DC was storming up the field, wasn't he?

he was, and had made some passes that reminded of a certain German, but it's damn hard to be fast with a dinner plate attached to side of your car.

I'm glad I found this thread about my favourite. I live where there are virtually no interest in F1; this is NASCAR territory so I have no one with whom to discuss F1.

Hamilton is amazing so far in his first three races. If McLaren stays competitive he should bag his first win this year.

But my man is still Alonso. I first took notice of him when he drove with Minardi and knew he would be something one day. When he became a Ranault driver I knew he was headed for a championship.

I'm very happy so see Spa back on the calendar; my favourite track by far.

I just started to read this thread from the beginning, to catch up, and came across this:
Quote:
I think what Mclaren did to Pedro De La Rosa was wrong. He stepped in for JPM last year and performed magnificently. By skipping him over and putting in Lewis Hamilton, I think Mclaren will be in for a rough year. Hamilton just does not have the experience of Pedro...
I have watched Pedro for many a year and he is no Hamilton. Do you think he would have pulled off those first corner moves the way Lewis did? Hardly! And as for Mclaren having a rough year, three races surely don't make a year but three podiums is more tha Pedro ever managed. I am astounded that he is matching pace with Alonso and the Ferraris.

This is true. But their car now is better than what they had previously with Kimi and JPM. Hamilton, I think, has blown away all doubters and even surprised the believers as to just how good he is.
